Westfield Farm is a full-service equestrian facility offering comprehensive boarding and training services for horses and riders of all ages and abilities. Located on 400+ acres in beautiful Clarke County, Virginia, Westfield Farm's equestrian department provides exceptional customer service and care to members, guests, and horses while promoting a fun, productive, and safe environment for all.



The Equestrian Care Specialist supports the health and wellbeing of the horses under Westfield Farm's supervision. This important role involves participating in the routine care of clients' horses and daily maintenance of our stables. Work is performed under the general direction of our Equestrian Manager.

Key duties include:



-Assist the Equestrian Manager and Assistant Manager with AM and PM feedings, well checks, turn in/ turn outs

-Administer medications as necessary

-Dress horses in blankets, fly gear and turn out boots as needed and assess gear for damage or wear and tear

-Assist with barn chores

-Assist with grooming, bathing, and vet and farrier appointments

-Clean and dry tack equipment

-Maintain clean and tidy stable, feed room, and tack rooms

-Assist with laundry and other related tasks as needed

-Assist Stable Attendants with stalls and regular cleaning duties



Key Requirements:



-Minimum three years of hands-on experience with horses

-Available to work five days per week, with at least one weekend day and holidays required

-Motivated self-starter with an ability to work independently and work well with the team

-All tasks must be performed in an efficient and productive manner

-Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy



Physical Requirements:



-Ability to independently lift and carry up to 50 pounds

-Ability to work outside in all types of weather

-Regular standing, walking, crouching, twisting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and pushing and pulling with arms

-Regular work with barn equipment and large equines

-$15/hour starting pay
